Parallel, the company building AI agents for healthcare providers, today announced the acquisition of Methodim, publisher of PRODIM, the PMSI software suite used by more than 700 healthcare establishments in France. Twelve months after launching its coding optimisation product, Parallel becomes a leader in the analysis and optimisation of activity revenue in France, across every hospital field: acute care (MCO), rehabilitation (SMR), hospital at home (HAD) and psychiatry.
Parallel's coding agents already optimise acute care coding within existing hospital software. But each field of activity has its own rules, and the recent SMR funding reform has reshaped how rehabilitation care is coded and reimbursed. Methodim was founded in Bordeaux in 2017 by Florence Perret, a DIM physician, and Jean-Christophe Pellevoizin, a former hospital CIO, who had both experienced first-hand the complexity of medical coding and the lack of analytics tools for teams and hospital management. Nine years later, without ever raising outside funding, Methodim's tools are used daily by more than 700 establishments.
Paul Lafforgue, Parallel co-founder and CEO, said:
Our ambition is simple: give every hospital the automation and the analytics it needs to secure its activity revenue, across every field. With Methodim, we get there faster in France, and this is only a first step: the challenges French hospitals face are shared across Europe.
PRODIM will remain available to all its existing clients. Building on PRODIM, Parallel and Methodim are already preparing new offerings: a new, more powerful SMR coding optimisation product based on generative AI, and an AI assistant that helps hospital teams and management analyse, understand and steer their establishment's activity.
The Methodim team is joining Parallel, bringing its medical coding expertise to every product the company builds.
According to Florence Perret, co-founder of Methodim :
Behind every coded stay is a patient and a care pathway that must be described faithfully. With Parallel's agents taking on the repetitive work, DIM physicians can focus on what only they can do: medical judgement, and guiding their establishment's decisions.
About Parallel
Launched in 2025 by Paul Lafforgue and Chris Rydahl, Parallel is a software solution that builds AI agents to automate administrative tasks in hospitals. Using Large Language Models and Computer Use Agents, Parallel leverages medical data to streamline operations and improve quality of care.
About Methodim
Founded in 2017 by Florence Perret and Jean-Christophe Pellevoizin, Methodim publishes PRODIM, a PMSI coding analytics software designed by DIM physicians. PRODIM is used by more than 700 healthcare establishments across SMR, HAD, psychiatry and MCO. It enables DIM teams and hospital management to analyse activity, monitor coding quality and identify optimisation opportunities.
